Match the cover to the phone you own
The UK model guides distinguish Apple iPhones, Samsung Galaxy devices and Google Pixel phones. Beyond the brand, a foldable screen, the age of the handset and the evidence of purchase can affect the search for suitable cover. Manufacturer programmes and independent insurance should be compared against the exact device being insured. An illustrative picture of a damaged phone does not establish a particular model’s specification or eligibility.
Check condition and documentation at the start
Record the handset’s full model name, serial number or IMEI and the documents showing ownership. A recently bought refurbished device and a phone used for several years may face different joining requirements. If the receipt is missing, ask the prospective insurer which evidence it accepts before paying. The older-phones and missing-receipts guides address these questions separately, so the model comparison does not hide a condition that could matter when claiming.
Three checks: phone brands, models and condition
- Select the correct model and storage option in a quotation.
- Disclose pre-existing damage accurately.
- Confirm how an equivalent replacement would be selected.
